Tennis – A shared tennis court is located 3 minutes walking from the Main House.
Horse Riding – La Almuña has horses on site and we can arrange day trips during your holiday. Please enquire at the time of booking for availability.
Walking – Both guided walking tours and individual trips are available at and around La Almuña. Walk around the farm and mountain-top on your own, with hours of breathtaking scenery at your fingertips, or we can arrange a guided tour for you during your stay.
Bird Watching – Bird watching tours can be arranged during your stay.
Farmer’s Market – Gaucin hosts a farmer’s market every 1st Saturday of the month featuring local artisan’s wares. Handmade baskets and local tiles are splendid trinkets to take home with you after your visit.
Golf – Unparalleled golf courses can be found in Sotogrande which is a 40 km drive away. More information is available at www.golfsotogrande.com After your round of golf you can enjoy a refreshing drink at the port with a myriad of cafes, bars, and restaurants to choose from.
Deep-sea Fishing - Deep-sea fishing trips can be arranged for you in Sotogrande.
Cycling – Cycling tours can be arranged during your stay. La Almuña does not have bicycles on site.
Kite & Wind Surfing – Kite and wind surfing are fantastic summer pastimes available off of the coast of Tarifa, Spain – an 80 km drive through the countryside from La Almuña. Make it a day trip!
Polo – There are polo matches held nearby with the high goal season peaking with the Gold Cup during mid-August. Stick and ball or learn polo from scratch available near Jimena de la Frontera – private & group tuition is available.
Bull Fighting – Take in the Ronda bull fighting, known as ‘The Goyeesca’ (in traditional costume), which happens every September.
Shopping – Puerto Banus with its designer shops, restaurants and beach clubs is a great place to visit during your stay.
Jazz Festival – Every July, Jimena de la Frontera hosts its annual jazz festival. Please call ahead for dates when booking.
Roman Ruins - Spain has a host of Roman ruins that can be visited during your stay. Ronda, Cordoba, and Bologna all are cities nearby that have plenty of ruins to tour.
What is nearby?
San Pablo du Buciete is close by with a railway station on the scenic rail line from Algeceiras to Ronda – via the white villages and the Alcornocales National Park.
Ronda is 30 minutes away and is famous for its ancient Roman ruins, bullfighting and the natural gorge upon which the city was built.
Jerez, the home of Sherry, replete with a Spanish riding school is 2 hours away.
Costa del Sol is 40 minutes away if you fancy a day at the beach during your stay or you can make it a small trip and travel to any of the Atlantic beaches located just 2 hours from La Almuña.
